ABOUT CHEF Amira-Marie

The red and white uniformed picture is about 11 years old now- that's a 17 year old me, excited as can be on my first day of work at my first job ever, In-N-Out Burger. At the time I was also taking the culinary classes my high school offered, eager to be around food and the cooking process in any capacity possible.

Well, fast forward 11 years and you could say I've done that. I've been incredibly blessed to have experienced a variety of culinary experiences- from my In-N-Out and Chipotle days, where I learned quite a bit about time management, work ethic, and multi-tasking. From there I worked at West Chop Club on Martha's Vineyard, where I landed my first personal chef gig cooking for the incredible Christine Varney (voted one of the 10 most powerful lawyers in D.C.!). I continued to work at assorted venues while in college full-time, ultimately being the only person out of my entire collegiate graduating class hired by Mandarin Oriental, the 5-Star, and per my particular establishment, 5 Diamond hotel conglomerate.

There I was able to exceed my wildest dreams- cooking for NBA Teams (Cavaliers or Pacers sound familiar?), national delegates, and other esteemed guests. My personal peak may have been working a dinner service alongside chef Daniel Boloud himself (and yeah, I did ask for an autograph after- it's one of my prized possessions). However, ultimately I came to the conclusion that I wanted to cook on my own terms, in order to fully create the culinary experience I envisioned as a young kid. So now we're here, and I couldn't be happier. Thanks for coming along on this delightful ride.
